About

Located in both Adams Township (Decatur County) and Noble Township (Shelby County), St. Paul, Indiana, boasts a rich history dating back to its founding in 1864. It all began with a vision by John Paul, a native of Holland with a dream of establishing a thriving community centered around a grist mill. Originally named "Paultown," the town was later renamed by John Paul's son to honor the apostle, becoming St. Paul in 1853.

History

The town's history is deeply intertwined with the industrious spirit of its founder. John Paul's quest for a suitable location for his grist mill led to the birth of what would become a vibrant and close-knit community.
